I thought it's worth capturing this just for historical value as I have to admit much has happened in the two years since we published this paper and "very soon" a major update will be coming out. This is an overview & comparison of Zigbee, Z-Wave, RF4CE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in the home. Again, in the recent two years we've seen Bluetooth gain market in specific applications, RF4CE gain momentum in price sensitive and simple application, and Wi-Fi become a prominent technology for content delivery.
